I seem to remember Helen had a disastrous relationship with someone called Ross, does anyone remember what went wrong ?

It didn't last long. After a couple of dates Ross decided they weren't suited but she went on stalking him, pestering him to come to family parties etc. He told her she was "too old for him" and "born old". In the end she got the message.

It may have been the same Ross who appeared as a journalist trying to stir up trouble when Alan & Usha were getting married.

<It may have been the same Ross who appeared as a journalist trying to stir up trouble when Alan & Usha were getting married.>

It was supposed to be the same Ross, but as the SW for the latter scenes gave Ross a different surname (didn't check the continuity file, oops), Keri decided retrospectively that the Echo had two reporters called Ross (who sounded the same).

The first Ross is still known as Cucumberman due to his rather innuendo-laden chat-up lines about the cucumbers in Ambrijj Organixx.
