I'm sure you'll keep us posted (bad pun) about this:
'The corporation’s web pages are to be halved, backed by a 25 per cent cut in staff numbers. Its £112 million budget will also be cut by 25 per cent. It is also pledging to include more links to newspaper articles to drive traffic to the websites of rival publishers.' fom here:
Though of course this is a report on an announcement yet to be made!

The Times says "..shut half its website..." but The Register says "..the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú will halve its web output...". (
Which, if either, of these is correct? The former suggests that 50% of existing pages will be pulled, while the latter suggests that the rate of adding new content will be halved...?

As far as I know, this won't affect ML. If there's any other news, I will indeed keep you posted.

Tayler, please could you pass the message to June Spencer that we loved hearing her on Desert Island Discs and on Songs of Praise. She is wonderful.

Is it any clearer now whether ML will be affected? I had a look at the review document (the web part) and it's mostly written in strategic gobbledigook (lots of "customer facing" and so on). There aren't many specifics and those that are included are I think only examples. It isn't clear that reducing the number of separate top level "sites" will actually mean less content beneath, as this can just be reconfigured - I suspect we're safe, unless one of the cuts is www.bbc.co.uk/dna as a whole.
I'm amused that every page is supposed to have a link to an external site. Presumable Archers Addicts will get an awful lot of links form here!

i hope that if/when ML goes, it can be transfered elsewhere?
at least the message board archive's SQL database can archived.
i hate to think that it'll all just vanish overnight.
