Was he ever non- silent?

As a youngster, he was played by Simon Cornish.
I have a vague memory of him when Jennifer moved into Wynfords with Chris, when the Travers-Macys broke up, but it may have been "Peter! Come down for lunch!" rather than him having interesting chats.
It's interesting how many of the next generation have been let go, such as the Tregorrans' two children, Bert and Freda's offspring, Nelson's daughter, almost all the Horrobins, and I'm sure there are more.

Lucy Perks, for one, who was a very audible and plot-involved child (played by Sid's actor's RL daughter, while other children were voiced, if at all, by Shula).
She's still mentioned though, and has continued to be difficult off-air with her successive step-mothers, so I have hopes she and her family might yet return.
"Wynfords"
Rosie, I am impressed.
Where was that? Is it on the official map? If not why not?
I remember adoptee Peter as a character, and I think he spoke too.

I thought Peter used to come back for holidays. Did he play a trumpet or something? Or was that his step Dad?

I think Wynfords is what is now just known as The Stables

No, The Stables is where Chris moved to, when Paul was made bankrupt(she and Paul rented it.
The Stables was Barrat's Farm, then Aunt Laura's home, with a Maori name, then she rented it to Lilian, who bought it and called it The Stables.
Perhaps he was the character who my father used to talk about sometimes, who was sent upstairs to tidy his bedroom and didn't come down again for twelve years.
I thought it was Paul who went to the Gents at the Bull and was never heard again. My mother used to say that they kept an alligator in there.
Sorry: Peter, not Paul...
An easy biblical mistake to make, I comfort myself.
