How do you put a thread that you have not contributed into "Your Discussions"? I use a Mac computer if that makes any differences to the instructions.
Thanks

You can subscribe to threads if you install Jont and Achilles script. It explains about it here on the Message Board FAQs page.

Can you only do it with the script?

I was afraid you'd ask that! It's the only way I know, at any rate.
As they say on the page about 'The Script', lots of words but few instructions. It's really quite simple and has cool features. The 'catch up' feature for example remembers how far into the thread you are and picks up where you left off.

Many people post a message that says something like "just bookmarking this" - which does the trick.

I described a method that doesn't rely on the script (or even what browser you're using) in this post:
Of course, it's much easier when using the script - and you get a shedload of other benfits too. See:

Thanks jont -the reason I haven't installed the script is that this is not my computer and I have been asked not to instal any extra software.

Thanks Librarian - I'll have to leave this in MY Discussions so that I remember how to do it!
