I have heard a rumour that the actor playing Paul, Matt's half-brother, is the same one who played Owen. Can this be true?
No. It's the same actor who plays Kenton. he plays all new parts and will taking over the parts of existing male characters as their actors leave, retire or die. The actress who plays Kirstie plays all new female characters.

Snork!
Paul is played by Michael Fenton Stevens (Inspector Steine, Revolting People, Old Harry's Game, even the old Radio Active), while Owen King was played by Jonathan Keeble.
I had not realised that Paul was played by Michael Fenton Stevens. I loved Radio Active and still listen when it is on Radio 7. What a good actor he is to play Paul, who I think is up to no good, and to play Martin Brown, the world's worst disk jockey, who was only employed because he was cheap!
Thanks for reinding me of Radio Active. I had forgotten.
How many years ago was that on?

I've got a small library of RadioActive mp3 files accumulating, and listening to one of the first series or programmes, it is described as having been originally broadcast in 1981.
I found that pretty scary, considering (a) how well I remembered it, and (b) how unchanged Angus Deayton's voice sounds!

I was about to make reference to a sketch then realised it was on the Million Pound Radio show, a bit like Radio Active but funnier.
It was the bit about the young lad going to study at the Polytechnic of Death as an engineering student. It had some very healthy and strong science and engineering graduates, but strangely no arts graduates. The catering at the college was notable for its rich meaty stews.
Having a weird sense of humour, I found this funny, quite worrying now I am a pensioner. Pensioners are old and tough may I remind you.
