I would like to make a point to the scriptwriters as an employee in the Criminal Justice field Matt would have been released on licence and would have had to report on his day of release to his Probation Officer. In addition the Officer would make a home visit and matt would have to inform his officer of the business he is working in - just an inaccuracy that is a little irritating!

How do you know the sws are unaware of this or have got it wrong? The fact that they haven't been mentioned on air doesn't mean that Matt hasn't been heard going through these processes it may just mean that the sws don't think they are interesting enough to the average listener and/or don't advance the plot.

The officer DID make a visit, on Matt's first evening home, didn't he.

And the whole point of the working SL is that Matt is hiding the fact that he is working in property development by putting Lilian up as front person for the company. Whether he will get found out and punished remains to be seen. That's drama; it's not a 'how to' tutorial on behalf of the probation service.

very true but he did go straight home after his release-but it is all rather irrelevant now, however he is supposed to be on licence, the whole point of only serving less than half the sentence in prison. I know this is all fictitious but it does have some bearing on his current behaviour....

I don't think he is hiding anything. There's nothing to stop him working in property development. He's barred from being a company director (and even if he wasn't I doubt that any bank would want to have dealings with him after the fraud) but there's nothing to prevent him being employed by Lilian who is the Director of Amside - whether he is an appropriate person to work for her company is her decision, as Director she's the one with whom the buck stops if anything dodgy happens.

    Provocative words Reggie!

Are you implying that all the scenes in TA do interest the listener and do advance the plot.

    I think not.
