Is the field that houses the Grundy's "campsite" the one that David let them have for a peppercorn rent or do they have more than one? Is this also where the cider shed is and the pole barn (or was that dismantled?). Oh, and Bartlebury of course! How big is the field?

They have the field they bought, plus the field "rented from David" The latter was arranged to create a small holding sufficiently large to qualify as an agricultural concern and hence avoid the need for planning permission for the pole barn (still there)
Thanks Mabel - didn't realised they owned a field as well.
Hi
If I remember rightly they bought the field after they had left Grange Farm with a surprise wind-fall. I think it to do the the milk quota that they sold on but someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
NB100 (nee Psion5)
I'm afraid the exact details escape me, but as I remember it, it turned out that there was some money 'left over' from the bankruptcy (which begs another question). A cheque turned up in the post from the administrator/liquidator.
I thought Bartalby was stabled in the back garden of the house- but could have the wrong end of the stick on that one.
NB100 is right they did buy it with money they got from the sale of the Grange Farm milk quota some time after they were evicted. I've a feeling they became entitled to it after a change in the law or a legal decision in the courts, but I could be wrong.
I'm fairly sure the field was bought with the redund they got for their milk quota (Mike was miffed, because he never got anything for his when he went bankrupt).
I think the have a reasonably decent paddock next to their house, because Lynda used to get stroppy at all the rusty machinery etc left in it. I presume this is where Bartleby is stabled. I also imagine this is where all the junk was that was raffled.

Didnt Clarrie win a few thousand on the lottery?
I thought this was used to buy the field.
Clarrie once won 200-odd on the lottery and bought Ed an electric guitar for his birthday.
Grundy's field was certainly the milk quota money. For some reason, Joe, Eddie and Clarrie each got a sum, and they needed Clarrie's third to afford the field, and made her use it by telling her it was "for the family future" though she wanted to save it for a rainy day
No, not the Grundys paddock next to the cottage they rent from Jack Woolley.
Lynda got stroppy because it is HER paddock, and she let Bartleby have use of it, and then the Grundys put more and more of their junk in it so she asked them NOT to.
