My very thoughts, dino. The synopsis/spoiler situation has been extremely annoying of late. I don't understand why this hasn't been sorted out.
glad it isn't just me!

Hi all - I've let the team know, although they may not pick the message up till the morning now.

We've had synopses not appear where and when they should and then appear where they shouldn't. The servers regularly run so slow as to be unusable. The flea was introduced as a temporary measure and is now a fixture that really annoys regular posters. We have had the podcast (especially Friday's) delayed so long that the minibus was broadcast first.
Is this a concerted effort to make the website so unusable that we stop using it, giving the Governors a good reason to close down ML?
Doughy. In frustration and high dudgeon.

Hi doughy - the short answer to your question is, definitely not!
The Beeb send their apologies. This was human error - someone entered something into the wrong field. We also think the problem with the synopses has been identified and so will be fixed.
One of the problems is finding development time for this version of the site, which is about to be superceded by a revamped site. The developers are working hard on getting the new version ready for launch.

Thanks for the reply, and I hope that you will understand that we are not criticising you - you are caught "piggy in the middle". However:
One of the problems is finding development time for this version of the siteÂ
The site /was/ working fairly well and so I would have applied the same philosophy that I do in my department (IT support for a medium sized multinational) "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I would guess that most, if not all, of the problems that we have seen with synopses recently have been down to simple human error or incompetence, and fixing the faults should have been a simple matter.
However:- we have seen many times in the past events that would suggest that someone has done some work and then not bothered to test it, and this is not good enough in an organisation like the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú that has always prided itself on its technical excellence.
superceded by a revamped siteÂ
When would you expect to be able to give us some clues re this?
Doughy.
Just echoing what doughy said.

Well here we are, I've just got back from a meeting and clicked on the home page so that I could use LA and *there* *is* *the* *bluddy* *synopsis* *in* *full* *view* on the home page.
I thought that this had been sorted out, but no - whoever is responsible has paid not a blind bit of notice.
Whatever happened to professionalism?
Doughy.
Tayler, it's happened again. See F2693940?thread=7590781

The Beeb send huge apologies for the problems with the synopses - they're on the case looking to fix it - we're hoping we have a new solution - just being tested now.
Meantime I'm still posting them in TBU here
