Hi, can anyone tell me, what happened to Alice's plans to join the forces (RAF, was it?) after graduation? Is she still planning to do that, do we know? And when does she graduate?

Didn't she take a test and get turned down?
Did she have flat feet?
IIRC she did get turned down for the RAF scholarship, or whatever, that she was after: so poor old Brian had to put his hand in his pocket for her fees.
As to her future I am not sure that it was ever made clear whether she still wished to become a brylcream boy on graduation, or whether that was yet another short-lived TA storyline.

Yes - you're right. Alice got through her first interview with the RAF but was turned down after the assessment.
Her decision to apply wasn't long after Ruairi came to live at Home Farm and Alice found this very difficult, so may have provoked her into applying so that she could get away from it all.

There was certainly an effort to separate herself from Brian because of her anger towards him over his affair, Ruairi etc, so she wanted to be financially independent from him. This prompted her to sign up for the RAF's university sponsorship scheme. I can't remember how she eventually reconciled herself to Brian paying for her after all.

Well, I think she applied for and was turned down for, sponsorship and holiday cadetship in the RAF; but decided that she may or may not apply for membership of the RAF when she qualifies as an engineer.
She went out for a meal with Brian and he offered her a loan for uni, which she stupidly accepted. No mention of the money Peggy left her.

Peggy lives (alas).
The Bank of Peggy gave sums of money to her children (Tony got the MG and Lil got a new face) and famously bankrolled Tom Archer Sausages but I don't think she has given anything to Alice (or her other grandchildren) yet.
Peggy gave huge sums to Jenny's children when Brian made Jenny take Ruairi into the fold. I think they each bought houses but Alice was not old enough.

Oh, yes, I remember that now. Didn't she set up offshore trust funds or somesuch? Presumably Alice is not old enough to draw on hers. As I recall this was basically an anti-Ruairi measure, did it apply to all all the grandchildren or just Jennifer's legit ones?
Mant thanks all for your informative replies. Much appreciated.
Debbie and Adam both became partners in the farm when Brian supposedly stepped back to spend more time with Ruairi ( or with Nicholas Parsons I can't quite remember)
Alice and Kate each own a holiday cottage as part of the share out.
I don't know if Ruairi will eventually have a share, (isn't it time he visited Irish Granny?)
I seem to remember all Jennie's kids were none too happy having to now share Brian's estate with Rrroooorrrriiii, which is why he gave Alice and Kate one of the holiday cottages each, and shares in the farm business to Adam and Debbie
As I recall, Debbie and Adam, Not Brian's spawn, got the lion's share of the farm (66%) leaving his legit. kids, Alice and Kate with a holiday Cottage each. Fair!!! After all the fuss when Daveed got the farm over Kenton and Elizabeth, well, that's life (and legacies)There may be trouble ahead.......

The Aldridge females are to get "a lump sum" of money as well as the cottage when Brian shuffles off, as well as being willed a cottage each.
Whilst I'm sure that Kate and Alice are going to get the cottages they won't get them when Brian hands in his lunch pail because they don't belong to him. They'll have to wait until Jennifer pops her clogs.
I always thought that the division of the farm was three way so that Ruairi could get a third (34%) when Brian chooses to give him it or when Brian dies.
Remember also that there is, potentially at least, plenty more of Aldridge loot for Kate and Alice because his share in BL must be in seven figures (my estimate).
Didn't Alice say Brian had already given her a cottage - she had a shagathon with Chris there?
I want to see the title deeds of those cottages, and if they really were given (as tax evasion) are Kate & Alice paying their mother to manage the holiday lets?

Brian still owns 100% of the farm. Adam and Debbie have a profit-sharing with Brian whereby each gets to run half the farm (and a share of the profits for that half). Brian stated his intention that when he dies the farm is to be left to Adam, Debbie and Ruairi.
The cottages were to be left to Kate and Alice (although they were originally stated as belonging to Jenny) but recently it was stated that they have already been given to Kate and Alice (never mentioned on air at the time). This looks like a double strength continuity error to me.
