...please?
I can't get it to work.
Is it or perhaps his voice saved somewhere else that is accessible?
Might this be a backstage story for 60th birthday?
did he go back to 1950/51?

Hi Tolkny
What a find! I think the file is no longer on the news site as I'm getting an error when I try to play it. I'll see if I can find out if it's available anywhere else.

Well done. Presumably if not there are other recordings of him elsewhere.
He sang with much regularity for many a year so there must be stuff somewhere.

There is fabulous stuff at British Library which I cannot access but presumably Auntie can.
There is a list of links on rhs, I can't get to part 1 though!

Tolkny, thank you for this link. I have just listened to the interview about the flat - Bob Arnold doesn't sing but says he's trying to 'think of a few more songs', and talks about going up and down stairs at his age.
Could you find somebody from one of the affiliated institutions (in the drop down list) to play this for you?

I am sure MsT will eventually get access to it all and it will figure in some 60th anniversary celebration in the new year.
Incidentally if you look around those links there were about 11 or 12 sections to that interview, I presume it is from an Oral history series. Possibly Beeb were not aware of it, although as they are now, I suspect we will eventually hear more once a proper researcher (which you may be) gets at it and the other stuff mentioned on the "dead" Midlands news web page from the time of his death in 1998 or thereabouts. I will wait until then.
Am a bit surprised I could not find anything on You Tube either as it is about the first time I have searched it and got a nil response.

I found this. Don't know if it helps.

Unfortunately there's no clip on The Archers website. I'll ask if there's any possibility of one being added to the site in future.
