Dates, again

  Could we have an explanation of Helen's pregnancy dates, please?
  
  The IUI treatment was on 11th May, 11 weeks from the episode on 28th July where a scan apparently showed her to be '10 weeks'.
  
  But in antenatal clinics they go by the date of the last period, typically 2 weeks before ovulation, so 2 weeks before 11th May. This would maean Helen would be more like 13 weeks pregnant.

  and Helen DID say, after the Private Clinic scan, that the NHS 12 week scan was to be done by her doc, so why 10 weeks? Who is the writer today?

  As Erms just posted, in DTA, the insemination "took place on May 11th, and sperm generally survives for no longer than 3 days, so there must have been an egg floating around somewhere that week. That still gives us a rough LMP of 27th April, and an EDD of 1st February, which means (SWs please note) she is now 13 WEEKS PREGNANT."
  
  There is a difference of 3 weeks, which is enough to make the difference between "premature enough to be a bit worrying, ie 5 wks prem" and "within the normal 38-42 week range", so, if you want to be straightforward and believable, could you sort it out now,please?
