  I would like to place a link to another thread in a thread. I've seen that other people do it, so can anyone teach me.

  Hey, jules it's just a bit of manual dexterity. To link to a whole thread in general:-
  
  Go to address bar at top of the page you want to link, where you will see http etc.
  
  Put your cursor in the address bar and click twice. Once will select the whole URL address, twice will make the cursor active.
  
  The bit of the URL address you want is Fxxxxx?thread=123456. Put cursor immediately before the F. Hold down left mouse button and carefully drag over that section of the URL to select. Right mouse click then select Copy. Now paste into your message.
  
  Check in Preview that your link is active. For this thread the link will be
  F2693942?thread=7708344
  
  If you want to link to one particular post in a thread you will need to manipulate the URL. Lets say I want everyone to read a post on the shiny windows thread, message No 24. Load the page, then go to the URL, click twice, jiggle the cursor along to the right hand end. Change the number of "&skip=20" to "&skip=23" and end with "&post=1". For this you need to highlight and copy the whole URL from http onwards.

  Actually, that last example will work if you start from the "F" as well.
