I thought she came from Waterley Cross.
The actor is Canadian, I think, but Jolene Rogers lived in Layton Cross when she was a Lily.

Was she a Lily? I thought she was a Doreen before being a Joleen.
She sang under the name of "The Lily of Layton Cross" in the early days.

Good grief, I'd forgotten this. It sounds like the early days of Music Hall - more Julia's scene (and era). I can't see how this fits her Nashville style, tassled fringes, boots and all.

According to The Book of The Archers, Jolene was the daughter of a butcher at Layton Cross.
