I drove past some fields of pig arcs and associated pigs on the weekend and it set me wondering about the arcs.

Does anyone know if the pigs always sleep in the same arc each night, or do they dive into anyone which is free?

I do not think you will get much joy from the production team on this as, although the agricultural advisor is among the 100 most powerful people in the countryside and is making the decisions that affect your life and being simultaneously largely responsible for educating urbanites about the trials and tribulations of farming, he is remarkably silent.

So I will proffer my view. Pigs are very sociable animals and incredibly clean. Even a piglet less than a day old will leave its mother's side to urinate away from the nest. Outdoor sows are divided into groups of five and remain together in their groups in the camps until their time comes.

So the answer is yes, they use the same ark and make it their home.

    Thanks for the details Seveek,

I've asked the prod team, so will let you know when I get an answer.

    Thanks!

Many thanks, Tayler. I look forward to hearing the response. As a townie, I do rely on TA to educate me properly in agricultural matters.

Perhaps you can ask GH too, when Tom and Jazzer move the arks, does it upset the pigs?

So many fascinating facts, so few questions, so little time!
