    Forum acronyms and abbreviations
Back in the 80s, I used to get really p*ss*d off with the use of acronyms and abbreviations in the computer industry, even though I was computer engineer myself. The use of acronyms, abbreviations and techno-jargon CPU, flip-flop, monostable bistable (switch), VDU, golfball, 74,000 series chip etc. (etcetera) was prolific. It was evident my fellow colleagues used this code in order to make themselves seem on a higher plane than mere non-computer mortals, speaking in a language no one else understood. smiley - steam
I’ve searched through this forum’s postings and advice messages, looking for an explanation of the multitude of obscure acronyms and abbreviations used herein. All I’ve discovered is the more obvious LOL means 'laughing out loud', ROFL means 'rolling on the floor laughing', BRB means 'be right back', L8R means '(see you) later', OIC means 'oh, I see', IMO means 'in my opinion' and IMHO means 'in my honest/humble opinion'.
I’ve guessed at TA – The Archers, SW – script writers, SL – storyline, pov – point of view, OTOH – on the other hand, OP – original post, Eppies – episodes and GG – Grey Gables, although I’m not certain I’ve guessed correctly.
But what about WW, JD, J&J, LK, ML and the countless other acronyms and abbreviations?
I think we should be told. smiley - smiley

Thanx kk, the first weblink, radio 4 is perfect. I was becoming concerned that there were too many acronyms I couldn't follow.
