Taylor you say you have disabled smileys following feedback, but I have seen a lot of posts in favour of them. I am genuinely interested to know if there really is a majority of posters who dislike them, or just a vociferous minoriity. Is it possible to have a for/against poll, so that we can get some sort of idea of numbers in each camp?
Replying to myself, it seems to me that those who don't like something complaind loudly, while those who like it or are ambivalent, who may well be the majority keep quiet, but the complainers win-out.

Not sure why you feell the need to start this thread when Tayler's thread, where the extiction of smileys is, at presen,t the main topic, already exists. And there are already at least three threads on the subject in the Bull.
Reggie, you haven't asked Bartsfets why they started a thread about the white background.
Or Redbookish why she started hers.
Both could have gone onto Tayler's thread.
Why pick on Tabby's thread?

I felt the need to start this thread because it is a question to which I would genuinely like to know the answer and I know from long experience that individual posts can get lost in a long thread.

Oh, sorry, when I said "from long experience" it was just a figure of speech, not any attempt to play the "I was here first" card.

Seems that way to me too Tabby.
