I seem to remember that Christopher Carter was born with a hare lip/cleft palate but haave never heard it mentioned since. Susan was distraught about it at the time and I would have thought Alice might have noticed!
Can any one else remember this? Yes - I have been listening a long time .... since the very first episode.

He had surgery when young to repair - not much to remark on now apparently
They don't say much nowadays about his sister's bedwetting either.

I always imagine him as a latter-day Rudi Nureyev, all muscley and with just a hint of a scar on his lip...very sexy.
No wonder Alice fancies him.
Glad someone else remembers this - thought I must have been re-writing my own version of 80s scripts.
Yes, Susan didn't take it very well, did she? I remember her being very down about it, wouldn't show Christopher around the house when she brought him home from the hospital, as she had done with Emma, despite Neil's anxious prompting. She did when she brought him home from the operation to correct the hare lip, though. I think I went off Susan just about, then.
Funny the things you remember. . .

I also remeber that Eddie touched Neil's heart, when visiting the baby, by saying "He looks like Winston Churchill. Just like all babies."
I had the feeling that part of Susan's problem bonding with Chris was that they took him away as soon as he was born, and took a long time to tell them why and show them the baby.
