This may have been raised before, but I couldn't find a relevant thread. When trying to use the timeline on the Archers website, I click on the 'text', 'audio' and 'video' symbols and nothing happens. I'm using a Mac with OS 10.6.5 and Firefox 3.6.13. As there is a big anniversary coming up, I'd like to go through the years and remind myself of what has gone on.
Anyone else having this problem?
All's well for me.
I hesitate to suggest it, but are you clicking on the three 'text', 'audio', 'video' symbols at the bottom or on the individual 'flags'? Go for the flags themselves.
Thanks for replying. No, I'm clicking on the individual flags with the descriptions of what should presumably appear. Funnily enough, once in a blue moon one of them works, producing a pop-up window, but it's extremely sporadic. I've disabled Firefox's pop-up blocker on that page, and disabled Adblock Plus on that page, but no difference.
Sorry to bump this, but surely someone can help me use the timeline? Tayler?
I don't know how to help because I have a Mac, same OS as you, same version of Firefox and it all works!
Oh thanks, Peggy. How weird! Must be something else in my set-up that's blocking it.
I don't want to ask the opbvious but are you clicking on the correct bit of the flag, the box on the left? Does the curser turn into the little hand shape before you click?
Yes, and yes. I click all over the orange bit, all over the white bit, and the cursor turns into a pointing hand for both of those areas. Again, sometimes it works (once in a blue moon, and usually only the first time I click on one of the 'events'). I've tried it in Safari too now, and exactly the same thing happens.
Gonna give up soon!
OK, problem solved. If I do a 'normal' click (which works for everything else I do on this computer), the timeline doesn't work. If I do a really feather-light click, it works. Bizarre. Never come across this before.
