Is anyone as mystified as I am that young Ruairi still has a broad Irish accent although he came to live in England when he was very small.
Both my daughters who were aged 4 and 9 at the time lost their Scottish accents within weeks of coming to live in England.
It is necessary for him to have an Irish accent in order to remind us of his mother.
In the same way Henry Ian, though not afawk biologically related to anyone Irish will speak in a strong Ian Paisley Ballymena accent from his first word onwards, to remind us who painted his nursery door.
