I just looked up Emma, and saw a photograph for an appreciable time before it blanked out - per my preferences. It is now seared into my mind and will conflict with my own image of her - which is nothing like the delicate attractive well dressed actress in the photo.
PLEASE PLEASE can the Who's Who be set to NO pics, with Pic's on appearing wheen chosen?

I don't get to see the pics as I've clicked on a link to say I don't want to. If I want to reverse that decision I have a link in the bottom right of the picture of the actor.

Hi Birdy - I too have made that option, but the way the site works is to show the pic, then blank it. It may blank before you see the pic at all on your screen, or just a flash, but sometimes, as today, there is an appreciable delay when the pic is visible.
What I am asking is that it STARTS blank, and only changes for those who have preset to have pics.
I know some people don't minbd, but for me it really spoils the listening experience. Particularly as they are always publicity type photos of glamorous people, which many archers characters are not. MY Emma is more like Vicky Pollard.

Hi OI
Do you mean that your preferences were already set to not show the photos before you accessed Emma's profile page?
Thanks

Yes, exactly Tayler. I HATE seeing pics of pretty actresses who take parts of characters who look very different in my mind's eye. The most egregious example being Ruth, who to my mind is solidly built, red faced, longish ill combed greying hair, and a stranger to make up. NOT a gamine.
What I think happens is that the system is set up to show pictures, then blanks them once it gets round to checking my preferences. Which sometimes means a picture flashes, but occasionally persists for a second or two. The brain requires a twenty-fifth of a second to perceive, IIRC!
What I am proposing is that the default should be no pics, so they only appear if there is a preset preference to have them, or a one-off request.

OK - thanks for clarifying. I'll see what I can find out for you.

Tayler - anything discovered in the past fortnight?
I was reminded to ask by just seeing an unwanted image of Tony that persisted long enough to see clearly before blanking.
I can't put these images back in the bottle.

You're out of luck. There was a time when school drop-outs with no chance of holding down any job used to operate back-yard car repair shops. With all the electronics and computer control that doesn't work any more. So now those self same individuals don suits, call themselves Web designers and get hired by the likes of the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú. So what do you expect? Good and rule-compliant design? Dream on!

I sympathise, O I, but have exorcised them to some degree by pursuing the belief that these are Zomby Imposters who have raided the boards.
