We seem to hear nothing of the Over Sixties now. Does it still exist?
We never heard that much but it was attended by ancients who at least had an annual outing to Weston super Mare.
Now I suppose a lot of the cast are eligible (Tony soon can join his sisters) but do they attend?
What a strange coincidence, Bob. I've just this minute posted in TB about approaching 60!

Many of those who ran the Over Sixties are now themselves the over sixties (or, as Jill is, the over seventies) . They don't, presumably regard themselves as needing an Over Sixties, as they take themselves off to gardens, tea shops, or hat museums, or farming events, or even Underwood's. So Mr Pullen's bellybuster breaker at the Bull might be his last trip out this year. We do seem to be hearing a lot about the WI at the moment - perhaps to recruit younger women; or because it's all less bother for the SWs than a mass booking for Weston.
The sad fact is that most of the over 60s who used to go on the outing are now departed (Walter, Mrs P, Dan, Doris, Aunt Laura, Pru, Mary Pound, Mrs Blossom. The only ones left would appear to be Joe, Bob Pullen and Mrs Potter. In the days that Mr K was host I used to regularly ask him about Mrs Potter's health as she gets so few mentions - and at the last asking she was still alive).
Tayler, if you see this perhaps you could ask the team if Mrs Potter is still alive?

I think the problem about the over sixties is that forty is the new sixty (or whatever the current buzzword is). I'm nearer seventy than sixty but I wouldn't dream of going to a club and on outings with a load of geriatrics. And for the same reason I don't watch daytime television yet, I'm just not ready for it.
Can anyone see the likes of Brian or Tony who are still active in their own fields submitting to that kind of thing.

Reggie, entirely agree. I will on principle not participate in anything designed for an exclusive category like 'over 60s' (apart from the bus pass, railcard, winter fuel payment, Boots discount. I didn't expect the Spanish Inqusition). We're all in it together, as some idiot keeps saying...
btw Tony could better be described as active in his own lagoons!

Hi again mike
Good news! Mrs Potter (and her walking frame) are still living silently in Manorfield Close.
Tayler
Hooray! Thankyou, Ttyler.
