You start a message on a thread, get some replies, then someone else starts an identical message on same thread. This has happened to me a couple of times.
I'm sorry, carol, I don't follow. If you start a thread and someone posts the same thing on that thread, then that seems nonsensical. Do you mean that someone starts a thread that is the same as yours? In which case, ignore.
Whoops, clearly the former (having re-read) - but I just don't understand this (posting the same message in the same thread). I've never come across it. If someone is playing games, then I'd ignore it.

Yes as you say it is probally just someone playing games.
‘Yes as you say it is probally just someone playing games.’
I’ve seen it done by accident a number of times where the poster copies your text in order to quote it and add a reply but then inadvertently presses Post Message, possible instead of Preview as they are both green and both begin with P so it is easily done. I think the buttons were the other way round on the old board so regular posters also might do it on auto pilot.
Such poster usually quickly post saying that they sent it in error, though.
If you gave us a link to an example, it would be easier to assess based on the context and possibly who the poster is.

(Sorry; couldn't resist.)
erm is it groundbadger day?
posters often just dont read an entire thread and have no idea that something they have just posted was posted by another person earlier in thread. unless carol means somoene has copied her word for word?
on the other hand, i had the bizzare experience of another poster typing out all my posts and sending them back to me. i was bemused but thought they had merely forgotten to include a comment. other kind posters pointed out he/she was retyping then with caps.( i had not noticed of course) so was obviously ticking me off. and said poster later told me i had no respect for other posters etc. !

Oh, I remember that, Irene. That was a complete daftoid, so I shouldn't worry about it. (She had a massive go at you for your lack of capitals and punctuation, if I remember.) Hope you're well, by the way. Usual mwahs apply.

no i wasnt worried, badge, just bemused. another poster decided to start a thread to berate me for an example of incorrect grammar used over on dta. had no idea till i strolled in to the bull sometime after it all kicked off. more bemusement. but even more amusement so thats what matters!

I've done this (started a similar type post) a couple of times, and I generally then try to make amends by posting on the other persons thread. Things move quite quickly in DTA sometimes so simul-posting sometimes happens. A case of 'great minds'.
However, if someone is doing it deliberately, having seen there is already a thread by that title, it's rather rude.
