Why were events of tomorrow broadcast today?
We all know (I think) that TA covers same day events at 7pm then at 2pm next day; except that Sunday may include Saturday - a strangely quiet day in Borsetshire.
What time periods do TAX/AMEX broadcasts cover?

And, more to the point, only after listening this evening to Kathy and Jamie talking this afternoon in TA can you understand the context of J-me's attitudes tomorrow that you heard this morning in Amex.
Tayler, please tell me this was a mistake.
We were told that it would make sense to listen to either TA or Amex or Both. But if we listen to both we must have a timeline?

Hi OI
The events in Ambridge Extra cover a longer time frame than The Archers - one episode will often cover the key events of two or three days, so this isn't a mistake. However, I will pass on your comments to the writers,
Tayler

Thanks for the response. Two suggestions
1) If Amex covers several days the scenes in Amex and in TA need to be co-ordinated where they involve the same characters. Kathy's meeting/discussion with J-me could have been done a day earlier. Or Jamie's with Rhys an episode later.
2) It is surely foolhardy to reference real life events the day before they happen. God forbid that (say) the Queen drops dead tonight - or that Kate decides to pull out. But either would make Amex seem very foolish.

Fine when the events that take place in that 'longer time frame' are fictional and completely within the control of those who write them. Complete lunancy when they are real life events that havent taken place yet. Anything could happen today.
The programme makers have made 'a mistake';, either they stick to fiction and stop this dallying in real life events, or at least have the humility to wait until the event has actually happened in real life before incorporating it in a storyline. TAs and AmEx both need to decide whether they are fiction or faction, because this muddled cross over is just daft.
Yes, I thought the same.
Topical inserts are one thing--but saying some real life event has happened before it has is quite another.
…this isn't a mistakeÂ
Of course it isn't. Perish the thought! How on earth could any Right-thinking listener even consider the absurd idea that any of the Archers Production Team be wrong, let alone having ever made a single mistake! Go to the bathroom and wash your mouth out! - NOW!!!!

Yet more than once I've heard the bells ringing in the new year during the 7:02 broadcast on December 31st.
Peet the Sa - I think it's OK for them to continue up to bedtime on the day.
But TAX went forward from this morning to lunchtime tomorrow, with scenes that were consequent upon a conversation that would not take place until this afternoon or be broadcast until this evening.
Can you have flashbacks on the wireless?

Don't you remember the Radio 4 play "A long wave goodbye", starring Margot Boyd as "The Dog Lady"...?
