Dear Taylor,
Bert the Bard has raised this recurring question on DTA about the time lapse between recording and broadcasting:
I realise that you are all busy but would appreciate it is someone in the production team would address it as it just seems an unnecessarily self-imposed restraint.
Thank you,
Ian.
There used to be a FAQ which gave the production schedule (but I can't find it now). According to memory they record 6 weeks of episodes in one go and that takes them about 1 week. Episodes are broadcast 2-8 weeks after being recorded?

Hi Ian and mike
The FAQs are in the About section:
The episodes are transmitted three to six weeks after recording.
Actors receive their scripts a few days before recording, which takes place every four weeks in a state-of-the-art radio drama studio at the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú’s premises in The Mailbox, Birmingham. Twenty-four episodes are recorded in six intensive days, using only two hours of studio time per thirteen minute episode.
