Boresetshire must be knee deep in horses and in horsey businesses. Selling the farriering only to one of two people doesn't strike me as the best deal from Ronnie's persepctive.

I don't know a lot about selling a going concern but what I do know seems to indicate that:

it'd be normal to sell it on the open market thus maximising your gains

it wouldn't be normal to limit its sale by offering it only to two former employees

Does anyone have an idea as to why Ronnie would be written as thinking that this is bizarre Apprentice-meets-the-X-factor arrangement is the best way of finding a buyer for a busy business?

And if Lils swans in and pays the money down I shall be most disappointed.

    Snork, frenders!
It is a figment of the prod team's imagination. With gaping holes you could drive a recently-shod carriage + 4 through.
But this is Ambridge business ... when has reality ever intruded?

Thanks, Arsy. It seems weird to me: demanding that your two potential buyers meet a series of very specific requirements so as to screw the most out the thing you are selling but not thinking that it might be quite intelligent to extend the offer of sale county-wide, thus getting even more wonga.

I wonder if Tayler has an idea of what the SWs mean ny the dim SL?

It's clear however that ruddy lils who's about to be touched by James for even more cash - that development must be up the spout by now - will open her bountiful purse and buy the business for Chris. This'll make Amside's portfolio a bit odd, comprising buy-to-let houses, the Cattle Market Development and a Farriers. I wonder what her business plan says and what her mission statement is - "delivering cow and property solutions" or some such garbage.

I quite agree with RSy -
you might like to look at this thread -
There are several posts from people who have RL experience of farriers, and their experience seems rather at odds with the "reality" purveyed by the SWs.

    What ho, Carrick

I don't think we are going to get any satisfactory answers from the prod team on this one. Even mAdam is convinced that a £200k outlay is going to be the making of Chris's business ... so it must be correct, & I must be wrong.

    Yours peevedly

My farrier said it was "implausible", and he's established enough to have "fancied Shula when she was virginal".
