Over on Discuss the Archers there is mention of Derek Fletcher sending Hayley a poison pen letter. What did it say?- What has she ever done to deserve this?

Hi ElShambo
According to Who's Who it was Usha Gupta who received Derek's poison pen letter - so probably before her marriage to Alan. I can't remember this myself so I'll check with the production team for details.

Hayley appeared on Borsetshire Radio advocating cheap starter homes fror local young people and Derek Fletcher sent her a poison-pen letter telling her to go back where she came from (Brum). Roy somehow worked out it was Derek, paid him a visit and threatened violence if he did it again.

Didn't Usha get anonymous letters from Roy's NF/BNP mates?

Hi all
Yes - Mike's right about the letter coming from Hayley (the entry in Who's Who will be amended!)
In the letter Derek said that Hayley should go back to where she came from - namely Birmingham.
There was an an anonymous letter sent to the diocese at the time of Alan and Usha's marriage but I don't think it was ever said who sent the letter.
