Hi ryw
Scruff was a rescue dog who came to Ambridge in 2003, so his age isn't known - not even by Lynda!

Define unfeasibly old ... one of our dogs exceeded 20 by a good margin.

Hi Mustafa and organistswife, I'm impressed! What were you feeding them?! ; )

A good mixed diet based on a working kibble; plenty of fresh air & exercise (but in general no more than 20 mins twice daily outside the working season); until about 5/6 years ago, plenty of passive smoking; and finally, puppies.
I kid you not: introducing a puppy to an older dog will usually, in our experience, take years off it.

I'd never have guessed - puppies and passive smoking...
