I had completely forgotten that they got married.
It was only browsing through the 2006 edition of Who's Who in The Archers (newer editions available at all good bookshops) that I noticed this.
The happy day was May 26 2005, so I don't suppose they had much time together.

Mary Wimbush died 1st November 2005 at the age of 81, shortly after recording an episode of TA.
IIRC that episode was in part re-recorded, and Julia officially died on 7th November 2005. Funeral was 17th November.
So does Lewis have any claim on the estate, apart from being a general genial dogsbody and meeter and greeter? Did Julia pass on LL to Nigel more than seven years before her death or was there a trust of some sort? Death duties have not raised their head so is it possible that Lewis is really the secret owner of LL? Or, knowing the chaotic administrative habits of Nigel and Elizabeth, could the solicitors not have been told about Julia's marriage? Now that would be interesting...

No. At the time she died Julia had nothing to pass on. The estate was passed from Nigel's father to Nigel but the exact mechanism was never described. Julia had a say in the early years but this disappeared somehow with the passage of time.
