In the Who's who, under the entry for The Horrobins, we find no mention of Bert Horrobin, but we do find "patriarch Reg".
There are other possibilities as well as Ivy having been married to both men:
Reg has recently changed his name to Bert for on-air use in the interests of some mooney-making scheme;
Ivy was first married to Reg, and is now married to Bert, so the page is simply in need of an update;
Someone has got the name wrong when he was creating this page in the Who's who.
Personally I think it most likely to be the last option, but I hope that it is one of the others because they would be more interesting.
Ms Tayler, can you say which it might be?
Not Taylor, but fairy sure it's option 3
He was always Bert - I remember him speaking briefly when Neil was discussing marrying Susan (shotguns were threatened)
Ivy wasn't previously married, if the story of the courtship and proposal she told Clive on AmEx when she showed him her rings ( kept in the bedside table as they no longer fitted) is correct

Hello both
I think this is a mistake, so have passed it on to be corrected.
Thanks!
Tayler
Thank you, Ms Tayler; it is what I thought, though I slightly hoped for one of the other available back-stories...
I hope you had a good weekend before coming back and finding this!
As one of those who left the Archers a year ago, I listened again recently and found a whole lot of new characters. I checked the who's who and was not much wiser.Bert? Tracy?
Pleased to see that Wayne Tuscon is still at the Bull though. Should make for some interesting evenings with Kenton. Why is there a who's who that nobody in the team cares about?
Zombly, I think it was because Mr Keri was going to revise it (he told us) "when we get the new website". We got the new website in October/November 2010, and while it was still a complete pig's dinner and needing a lot of things doing as well as just the Who's who and the Timeline Mr Keri got offered the job of writing Ambridge Extra and went off to do that instead of the boring old website which he had been doing all year.
Since 2011 WWITA has appeared under the authorship of Graham Harvey, not Keri Davies, so any deficiencies in WWITA will not be down to Keri spending time writing AmEx.
I hadn't realised that Graham Harvey had now taken over doing the updates in the website! Thanks, Mike: that makes it clear who ought to be blamed for their deficiencies.
I was not talking about the printed "Who's Who in the Archers", a different thing from the website. I did know that has changed editor.

I hadn't realised that Graham Harvey had now taken over doing the updates in the website!Â
Or rather not doing them.
Why don't they just let the wise folk here do it for free?

Hi all
Keri is still looking after the website - Graham Harvey wrote the latest Who's Who book.

Dear Ms Tayler,
Don't you mean he *isn't*? You have pointed things out for him *months* ago and they are still waiting to be done.
Though I notice that the pictures of the houses of Ambridge have been removed, or are no longer accessivble: is that so that they can be made a little more like the descriptions of them that are in the various books, or is it just that it has been decided to reduce it all just a little bit more, in line with the streamlined bios and the slim new timeline?
(I am still regreting that I didn't make a copy of the older, far better Timeline before it was removed -- you don't happen to know whether there is a copy still extant anywhere do you?)

I don't do Twitter, though, so I shall judge this new system by the results. So far since 6th January the only change I have noticed is that all the illustrations of the houses which used to be attached to the Ambridge Map part of the website have ceased to be accessible, so it doesn't seem to me to have improved anything much. The errors I have pointed out and been assured were passed on have not been corrected.

Hi Chris
Keri is working on updates to the site over the next few days.
Tayler
Good-oh!
Does he have a copy of the previous timeline to work from? It was a lot and a lot easier to read than the present thing....
Good luck to him.
It isn't so much the updates that I am worried about, to be honest; it is the corrections. If things are wrong it is far worse then them not being there.
I note that Tracy's name has been changed back from Tracey, and that the inaccurate entry which caused this thread in the first place, The Horrobins, seems to have been remover altogether, which I suppose is one way fo correcting it!
So thanks to Mr Keri for those things.
No pictures for the map, still. "Scruff Saved" in the Timeline is still in 2006 instead of 2005 when it happened. And other points all over the place are waiting fpor correction -- let's not get into discussion on the board, they have been sent by email.
