...of you being able to host/organise some sort of live web chat involving senior TA writers etc and us Mustardlanders?

There seems to be a disconnect between the SWs and listeners; some would say The Archers is duller than ever, breing dumbed down ('Eastendered') , the number of silly and easily avoided continuinity errors, totally impractical storylines and whether SATTC has had the intended impact.

All of these are topics that could be debated in real time and it would be useful to air them publicaly.

Speaking for myself I think their would be sufficent interest (please sign in below/comment if you disagree MLers) but I think it a concept worth considering.

    Thanks

I would certainly agree, B-G. It would provide us with a forum for positive engagement (sorry, do I sound like Debbie !).

    HI BG

I'll certainly put this to them. I do pass on many of the comments and topics here every week, so they get a flavour of the discussions and reactions - good and bad!

I agree Barwick Green, but I'd be very surprised if the Prod Team agrees to do this.

The point is constantly made on here that contributors to this board are a tiny tiny fraction of the vast listenership, all of whom - we are assured, every time someone pops up on Feedback to ask why the show has lost its way - think that the Archers is just the bees knees and all is tickety boo.

If the Prod Team set up any dialogue between themselves and listeners I guess they'd be told what they don't want to hear - or else they'd filter the points for debate to exclude dissenters. All we'd get is end to end 'I listen to the show and it's fab please give up more of Pip and congrats to the Prod Team'.

I'd love it to be different but it just ain't going to happen. Look what happened when we used to put written questions to the actors. God that was tedious reading and was clearly a massive editing job.

I'm bumping my own thread here; Tayler, in the light of RS Acre's excellent thread - 'Attn: Tayler Creswell' something has to be done (VW's resignation would be a start) burr please let's have some transparency and openness.

Cheeky I may be but do you think you could get some sort of answer as to a live webchat - and a reasoned response to RSA's post by the end of this month please?

    Hi BG

I've seen RSA's thread and will be in touch with the team about it - and this one. When you mention "transparency and openness" - are you referring to something in particular?

    Thanks

    Hi Tayler

Ms Whitburn was all over the media like a rash a year ago; not a sign of her in the last twelve months at a time when Mustardland is in revolt with RSA's 'open letter' sums up the way many of us feel. VW was happy bask in what she assumed would be public acclaim but as soon as the going got rough (her 'dissembling' about Nigel's fate for example) it seems she's battened the hatches and isn't answerable to the licence payers.

What happens to our well argued and (IMO) rational concerns; do the simply end up in virtual cyber bin? Whither SATTC a year on; a success? How has the money fairy rescued Plague Farm? Why is the 'doggedly independant;' but certified looney Hideous Helen and her sprog Horrid Henry sponging off her parents?

Questions, questions but never an answer to drink.

    Thanks

    B_G

    Tayler - please see this thread;

It's not just me that thinks some sort of interactive chat would be beneficial; can you please get us a definitive answer about this?

    Thanks

Legally he might have been quite entitled to tell Matt to go and whistle. But think of the effect it would have had on his professional reputation if such huge unpaid gambling debts had become public knowledge. I don't think Matt would have kept them secret.

Whoops. How did that happen? It should have been on the Shula and Ali's Debts thread.
