I regularly download the podcasts to my phone which has played consecutive episodes happily as they were all named by date. However, this week they have started to be named by DAY. My phone helpfully now plays them ALPHABETICALLY! Any ideas?

Are you using iTunes? If so, I think I can help.

1) Find small child
2) Get it to tell your phone to sort by date.
If no small children available, RTFM.
Or google your phone for a user forum.
More importantly, who though this was a good idea? The old, logical naming system sorted alphabetically and was very useful for moving files around.
This new naming is just ridiculous. Was there much demand or was it a whim?
Please change it back, or just put the really useful 6 digit date at the beginning.

This has also driven me mad since the middle of last week, saving the mp3 files to my Nokia E72 as music tracks.
Today's episode should be called "Archers: 120117 Tuesday" in the same way they used to be. At least they aren't sorted by alphabetical order of first word of Synopsis (as some other progs), but perhaps we shouldn't spread that idea in case someone thinks it's a suggestion!!
So DON'T DUMP DIGITAL DATING !!!
I don't need small child to tell me that my phone WON'T order by date. I had already investigated that! Besides WHY bother renaming them? Does this imply that someone at the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú is underemployed and looking for work to fill their time?

ffred - I had not realised that it was a Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú name convention change causing the problem. Old convention seems ideal. Can't you rename? Pain I know.

Is there any update to this? I hate the new naming since new episodes hide in between old ones. I used to be able to download a few episodes and just let them run. Now I have to search for the next episode which isn't always convenient - can't listen in the car any more, that's for sure!

Hi Amandapascoe10
It's been passed on to the people who look after the podcasts and I know there's been a discussion about the naming format. I'll see if there's been any resolution yet and let you know.

Can I add my voice to this request please - the standard Android player on my LG phone does not allow sorting by date (or anything else), it simply lists and plays things in alphabetical order.

Yep, same here - thought it was a problem with my phone actually as I have started downloading straight to my phonecard instead of to my pc and then sending to phone, until I saw this thread, so glad it is a change in the formatting of the titles. Hope they get it changed back it is such a pain when you have afew epis loaded especially a couple with the same day in the title!
