Can anyone tell me exactly when Elizabeth had that implant put into her last year? And what was it supposed to be for?

Early, because she had to stop driving for 6 months and restarted some time ago.
It maintains heart rhythm and will shock her if her heart fails.
Yeah, that's as much as I know too. Anyone able to pin it down to date?
Elizabeth's op was on 17 March 2011
Thanks Dee

Dadn - do you know about lowfield? Synopses back to the 90s. Page a month summary so easy to find info.
They are linked (messily) from About IIRC

Hi dadn
There's more detail and some links to more information on the blog
(Warning: there's a photo of Alison Dowling aka Elizabeth there)

Of course it would help if I provided the link!

Thank you for all that information. I did eventually find the episodes I was looking for. Last week a friend of mine was told he would need one of these ICD devices and I thought - "I know about those!"
Isn't it amazing how educational TA is?!
I've seen lots of references to Lowfield. Some posters seem to ascribe to it a significance akin to holy writ.
However, the synopses are relatively brief and it is unclear to me why they should be any more accurate than the ones that appear on this site, and they have been known to be misleading (to put it gently).

It is the only book we have.
Are there synopses on this site that go back more than a week or so? Lowfield does 20 years.
I like to think that I know something about the history of a popular card game. Comparing the published histories with what is documented in contemporary source material reveals significant inaccuracies.
The only authoritative source for what happened in TA is the broadcasts: even people involved at the time, writing after the event, can get it wrong.
Lowfield is obviously a lot better than nothing. But the mere fact that something appears in Lowfield does not mean that all the nuances have been recorded accurately.
For an example of what I mean, see Message 17 (31/01/12) under the heading "What’s the legal set-up of Bridge Farm?". A relatively brief record such as has been extracted from Lowfield inevitably sets out the gist of the discussions, not the details, and it is the details which are needed in order to answer the question authoritatively.

Hi OI
The synopsis archive here goes back to Jan 2007.

Well I never!
Indeed I never found this resource.
Which I now see is linked from the 1 week catch up page.
Any chance that we could have drop down boxes from the top row of links - like almost every other website! ?
Thanks Tayler

Hi OI
I don't think there are to be any changes anytime soon to the way this website works. Sorry!

She is a heartless cow. Blaming someone for risking his own life to assist the serial fool Nigel go and do yet another silly thing
And she is cold to her children and only cares about that barely profitable business

< Elizabeth's heart implant? >
I'm not sure the Lizard ever had a heart. Since she was young the doctors have simply replaced that black marble slab in her chest where her heart should be. She's a cold calculating soulless woman who loves to hate.

The site you offer is suffering from inability, Ms Tayler: it shows a message saying it has an internal hiccup!
The reason for consulting Lowfield is not for nuances; it is for dates and facts. Lowfield has not to my knowledge stated that something had happened which had not been broadcast. It may not include all details, but what it does include about who did what where is likely to be at least as accurate as the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú synopses, sometimes more because those have been known to refer to things which did not happen on air that day.
In this case, Lowfield of 17th March 2011 has Elizabeth having had a delayed operation which went well, and saying that she won't be able to drive for six months. The latter was useful when her driving about the place in May that year was queried and shown not to be legal.
