I can't really see the difference between this place and DtA. Is there one?

Yes, this board was started to divert away questions about factual details about Ambridge or its history. It was meant to tap into the listener's collective memory, especially where the official records had worn thin.
It was the first separate board to be created away from the main board, that was then re-named "Current Storylines" or later "Discuss the Archers"

Not only was it meant to, it does. So of course do discussions on DtA but here threads are much shorter and spats are very rare. In Keri's days anyway it was the also the place to be sure of getting an answer from him quickly, as he said he checked it regularly. Tayler also seems to do that.
Of course there are some (a very few) posters who start threads that should be in DtA but they tend to fizzle out.

Hi Bette
There is some cross-over but N&Q is a place for people to ask specific questions about storylines, the cast, or even about the message board (and it's much easier for me to spot them in here and answer promptly if I can). DtA is for people to share opinions about the programme.

Oh, fair enough. I've scrolled down the threads, and most of them indeed are of N&Q-kind posts. Some of the threads would be better posted in DtA.
When the original main board was renamed "Current Storylines" and this board was added, the difference between the two was obvious. Since "Current Storylines" was renamed "Discuss the Archers" the boundaries have become blurred and crossover has occurred which, to my mind, is not a good thing. Mr Keri frequently reminded posters when storylines posted on here were discussed at length and sometimes moved the thread to other board.
