...or on remand?
This is fairly critical to the intimidation story.
Wednesday 16th May
The people who attacked Adam have been charged and are on remand.
Has it been revealed who they are and what they were doing? I think I must be having another senior moment, as it totally escaped me that they''d even been caught. DId we hear the circumstances of their arrest?
Is it usual for the person accused of a serious attack (don't know if it would be GBH/ABH or attempted murder) would be on remand?
26th April Adam has now seen sight of another suspicious vehicle including a low loader. They've called the police but they can't come immediately so David offers to go round. He comes across them and they nearly run him over. Then David finds Adam unconscious.
Adam is still unconscious when the ambulance arrives and David is told to wait for the police and to notify other people who need to know. He calls Brian and Jennifer in the restaurant and they rush to the hospital. They have called Ian and David says he would recognise the thieves if they saw him again.
27th April David has gone to try to identify the people concerned.
David has definitely identified the driver and the passenger. Whether the police will ever find them though...
8th May The doorbell announces yet another visitor: it's David with the news that the police have arrested the thieves who attacked Adam.
Thanks!
Tayler, I'd be interested to know too, especially as if they ARE on remand, I would have thought that such violent intimidation to the witnesses family and destruction of his property/violent killing of his livestock, would have broken their bail conditions?
We don't actually know that it is the people who are on remand who are making the threats. Could well be mates of theirs. But I think given the situation the police, or whoever is responsible, would have gone back to the magistrates and asked for bail to be rescinded and that the magistrates would have complied with that request.
Exactly, and it would have been in the "Baddies" interests to have said "Desist", if it wasn't actually them doing the intimidation.
But that's in the Real World...

c_b Although they are, strictly, "on remand" whether imprisoned on remand or bailed, in common usage "on remand" means that they are IN prison and I am sure that is what is intended by the reports in the programme.
I don't know how intimidation would affect bail - as I think we can assume that those charged would deny all knowledge and claim it must be being done by those really guilty, to strengthen the apparent case against their innocent selves?

What 'thieves' ? They hadn't (yet) thieved anything and the attack on Adam and attempt to run down David was far more heinous than stealing. Why pussyfoot about and dilute their crimes; they are cowardly scum and worse than simple 'thieves'.

They had, on other farms. That's why Dayveed and Adam were on the look-out. Remember Tom's quad-bike?

But is there a shred of evidence to link the two?
We have to assume, as they were referred to as "thieves", there is.
IIRC the 'thief' who stole Tarm's quad bike was caught when he tried to sell it online. This would indicate that the theft was not connected to the assailants.
From my recollection they recovered it from the buyer, not the seller.
