I record via my Freeview box all weekday Archers programmes just in case I miss the live broadcasts. Without fail, they all start way before the programme begins and the ends are all cut off. This only happens with The Archers - every other TV and radio programmes records perfectly. Why is this happening and is there anything that can be done at the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú end?
It's because the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú insist on "squeezing in" an unscheduled trail before TA, which means that it finishes closer to 7:16 than 7:15. Because the trails are unscheduled they don't register on the timings the PVR uses.
I had to add two minutes to the end of the recording manually if I had to record unattended. It's a moot point now, as here in Scotland Radio 4 gets cut off the Freeview at 5pm.

Agreed. I listen in sight of a radio controlled clock and IIRC it always ends after 19:15:00. Will monitor!

If you can/know how; fine!

Is there not rioting on the streets? What do you get instead?

Oh Joy.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to give each viewer a private line?
TA Tonight went to closing music at 19:15:30; ended 19:15:50

At the very least they could have put it on instead of the predominantly English "Parliamentary Channel" and left all our radio stations alone. Freeview is the only reliable over-the-air terrestrial Digital service in Scotland.

Surely Freeview is the ONLY
over-the-air terrestrial Digital serviceÂ
anywhere in UK ?

We are still united! Don't you get "Hobbit House TV" ?

The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú are constantly trying to push "DAB", but up here they never quite finished rolling out FM.

Ah !! - I totally forgot about digital wireless.
VERRY promising article in yesterday's Torygraph suggesting they don't plan to stop FM any more.
Analogue (or rather those frequencies used by it) propagates better in hilly sparsely populated places.
