Learning that a "crack girls' team' was to play at Ambridge (and won!) brought back memories of my old school, which closed in 1967. We were St Margaret's School, Folkestone, and the had the best cricket team in the country. Between 1949 and 1953 we won 78 matches in succession. One of our girls, Susan Goatman, became England's women's cricket captain. Read more on www.smogs.org.uk/cricket.html.
