Hello everyone. I'm a relatively recent addition to The Archers family, I only started listening in April. I don't think I've heard very much from Elizabeth since then, so I was wondering could someone fill me in on what the reason behind the animosity between David and her is? I gather there was been some sort of schism?

    Thanks!

    You are serious I presume!

18 months ago Lizzie's husband Nigel and David were removing a banner from the icy roof of his manor house in the middle of the night, drink taken, when he fell to his death.

Dopey David admitted ot Liz that he had encouraged the foolhardy action and she blames him.

Lizzy is the youngest daughter of Phil (deceased) and Jill, sister of David, Kenton and Shula (pah, spit). Before his murder she was the straight man to Nigel's eccentricity. David encouraged Nigel on to the roof in the middle of the night with the words, 'Are you man or mouse?'. David felt guilty, as he should, and went overboard in helping Lizzy afterwards before finally telling her, during a picnic, what he had done.

When you think of Lizzy you should imagine someone who looks not unlike Liz Hurley.

Eggy, read the news, end my pain,

And get me to Ambridge once again!
For there beneath an old oak tree
The finest* picnic you'll ever see
(*Orangery best, none of your Tesco)
Lizzy and David dine al fresco
All manor of treats sure to please
Cold meats, mango chutney and cheese
    Waldorf salad, grapes and salmon
Nut and rosehip bread with gammon
    To finish, raspberry roulade
Then a kick in the groin, quite hard
