...broken leg, which is mending nicely at his mothers house, where he's being waited on hand and foot?
Have the SWs ever heard of such a thing, because no posters have?
Does Leonie have a Special Job?
If I have missed the shift into Magic Realism, apologies)

It's nonsense.
Nobody within my ken would have heard of such a thing. Even fewer would write about it.
Make it stop.
Oh, I did, not with the off but with the on button unused.
Sadly.

In the current economic situation, where good employees are losing their jobs in droves, what sort of fairyland is this where an employer says "Oh yes, it would be nice to get rid of her for a while, so lets give her full pay so she can go and join the throngs hovering over wossisname"?
In reality,is they wanted to get rid of her, it would be"Yes, of course you can go for as long as you like. We'll send your P45 on".

I assumed she phoned in sick and lied about it. No evidence for this apart from the fact that it's Leonie.
But didn't she /always/ have a job where she could take time off at random intervals for things like Flower and Produce shows or Balloon rides, when she and James were running around with a camera?

My response was a bit tongue in cheek ..

Oh good, JPBS - then I can reply "Yes, the relief from the whining, screeching and inanity might be nice, mightn't it?"

Given the feather- bedded silk- lined Easy Street that VW and her acolytes live in is i tany wonder trhat they think a week's compassionate leave is normal? The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú staffers probaly get a day off when their goldfish dies.
Four months grace leave for Ms Nibs? What an utter briefcasing disgrace!

Me too - or that she's lost her job already. I don't understand why so many people believe that Leonie speaks the unvarnished truth.
I can accept Robert's credulous as he's her father but I don't think there's any excuse for anyone else.

It was ever thus. Way back before there was a message board Kathy Perks, a full time teacher in a Comprehensive school was nipping out of school in "free periods" to tryst with her paramour. I wrote to point out that this was impossible as most Comprehensive schools at that time were short staffed and 'free periods' were a figment of the imagination /and/ to leave school one would have to say where you were going if you were lucky enough to be allowed to go at all as at the height of the troubles in NI hoax bomb scares led to lots of fire practices.
I was told it was a "necessary plot device', never mind the lack of verisimilitude. SFAnneâ„¢
