The temperatures in Ambridge (i.e. about 40 miles south west of Birmingham) are likely to be 0 degress C - at best - over the next five days and there has been steady snowfalls over the last three will anyone turn up for their pub breakfasts?

I forecast Kenton claiming that the Bull will break all known records with Freda needing a holiday after all that work and Securicor having to send an extra armoured van to collect the takings.

    Pah!

‘will anyone turn up for their pub breakfasts?’

Probably the reverse and more will turn up because of the weather. A Trade Magazine published over the weekend reported many pubs with lunchtime trade up 100% attributed to the weather.

It is probably accounted for by the fact that many people are unable to get to work and seek solace in the pub.

Certainly, about seven years ago our village was cut off from the outside world by the snow and around sixty villagers (out of 200 adult residence) gathered in the local whereas normally there might have been 2/3 of us. The atmosphere was brilliant and very sociable making it one of my favourite sessions.
