There have been many many examples in here of the listeners having more accurate memories and records of The Archers' history. This is a unique programme in its logevity and the memories of listeners are important. Very important.
You close this board down and you will lose this and be left with your very inadequate archive department.
I agree.
Hi Rosie! One of the Knowledgeable Ones.
This is a genuine question - not to Nigel but to the scriptwriters and in particular Keri, who knows what a wealth of information N & Q is.
How do you intend to keep interacting with the listeners and gathering their memories? Please don't direct me to a blog praising the archivist - sorry this is not good enough. The discussions here and also in DTA have clarified many "facts" in Ambridge.

So no more listeners able to tell the SWs that they have got something badly wrong?
Now that sounds like a very good explanation for the shut-down.

Definitive proof that these are 'the wrong sort of listeners' !

Careen, may I direct you to Keri's "answer" to a very similar question that I had posed?
The email address for queries is
radio4.webteam@bbc.co.uk
But I'd encourage you to use Facebook or Twitter, as that way the answers will be shared with other interested listeners.
I know they aren't for everyone, but you could use Twitter simply to follow The Archers and for no other purpose if you wanted. It's very easy to sign up.
Anyway, I hope that helps. Â

Actually we will still post what we think, in Peets or elsewhere.
AND THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CENSOR US !!!
So we can post things like "BMW is a daughter of the Blessed Maggi and her feet smell"
And we can even mention the name of the company that does moderation for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú.
With LINKS to its home page where it proudly proclaims the fact !!!
So true Careen.
PLease everyone sign Slightly Foxed petition
We have 767 signatures and we are aiming for a 1000. The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú must be made to account for their decisions.
Yeah, Mustafa, an answer giving an email for query is NOT the answer. Because its the discussion that counts and very often a query does not result in an accurate answer from the TA team. Far be it for me to say we know best, but we very often do.
I can't see how any of the alternatives suggested - twitter, facebook, Peets - would be able to do what N&Q has done and I suspect without it the accuracy of TA will deteriorate.

<< and I suspect without it the accuracy of TA will deteriorate. >> ... "even further".
I do take these points absolutely.
On reflection, I think Peet's will be the most satisfactory place for this sort of community memory-sharing, rather than Facebook or Twitter - for all the reasons people have stated.
From a personal point of view, I'm already contributing to the Playlist thread there. It works very much the same way as the one in The Bull here.
Except that the expertise needs to be shared with the production team.

Except that the expertise needs to be shared with the production team. Well we think it does, but I suspect they will be glad to be rid of us.
It works very much the same way as the one in The Bull here. But Keri, it is not under the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú umbrella, and some people are uncomfortable about posting on other, non-Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú sites.

Exactly! I want to post in a safe secure environment under the umbrella of OUR Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú.
And it IS OURS!

OTOH we will avoid neurotic Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú modding by that shady bunch who may not be mentioned.
I love the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú.
Part of the appeal of this site was that it was gently moderated, and nutcases like Geordan, and Rainbow Ethical Vegan were removed from membership.
The mods talked to us, we were able to communicate (or was it "Interact").
When they were outsourced, things became a bit trickier.
I understood that (synonym for) licence (starts with same 2 letters, then berty)eight hundred and forty two boasted about being moderators for the bbc, didn't they? Have they given up?

Rosie "Liberty 842" which we are allowed to mention is Tayler's company but the moderation is done by a different social media company which may not be named at all at all. But very easy to find on google, as they proudly mention their Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú links which google will find!
She boasted of it on the Liberty site when she became ML Host. Has it been taken away then? Interesting.

So, it has been taken away since then?

Hi Rosie & O!
I think there may be some confusion here, my company has never looked after moderation for the message board. I was brought in to be the host here, which is what (was and) is stated on my website.

Hi Tayler - I think Rosie was confused but as I said in my post 18
Rosie "Liberty 842" which we are allowed to mention is Tayler's company but the moderation is done by a different social media company which may not be named at all at all.Â
I think the farcical secrecy about the o ther company causes the confusion.
I hope your loss of income is not great; though fear it must be if the site costs were why it must go!
