Sorry, I know it's been explained loads of times but I never bothered with it and I don't know where to find the instructions, so how do I get rid of my posting history please? (I don't use the script.)
Thanks.
Answering myself, I hadn't checked the sticky thread, thanks, I'm now sorted.
Can you tell me how to do it please?

Hi lardycake
You can delete your posting history by simply unsubscribing from the threads in "My discussions" (ie your discussions!) There's a link at the top of each thread.
Tayler
Hi Tayler I know it's late in the day and it's not a big issue but I've come across just one thing I can't get rid of, a link to h2g2.
Any ideas how to get rid of it? I didn't bother with the flummoxing stuff to keep my account open when h2g2 moved off into the private sector so it's possible the thing will be there for ever.

Hi cath
Sorry, I've no idea about that. Do you mean that you've still got an account there?
I'll ask about it and if we're closed by the time I get an answer will email you.
Tayler
Thanks Tayler. What happens is that I click the link and I get a screen with a picture and a G'day cath. Well, it's a bit informal! But please don't go to any trouble. It's not the end of the world.

Hi cath - sounds like you should be able to find your settings/log in somewhere on the site and delete your account. It could also just be a cookie thing (ie it recognises your computer)?
Tayler
Thanks Tayler, I don't /think/ it's a cookie but it's not important. Just weird - evidence for all time that I was trying to get on to the MB one day and it was shut down or summat. Hey ho.
Cath I have several links to journals in h2g2 which I failed to cancel before it moved. I think that all of them bring up an error page, even though I did migrate the account.
Achilles was a Hootoo user long before he took turns to tweak the Script. He might have a solution.
Thanks pj. It really isn't a problem, I don't want anyone to go to any trouble, it's just a bit untidy and as I was clearing up I thought I'd see if I could get rid of it. There is no such thing as perfection so maybe it's as well it's there!
As I've seen you here, I just want to say thanks for all our discussions over the years which I've enjoyed very much.
Oh - me too, hon!
Somewhere in the future there will be digital archaeologists who will approach the annals of ML as if they were cave paintings in the Pyrenees. We're probably somewhere towards the end of the Age of Magical Realism.
Hello, you two. I don't think I shall be posting on any of the new sites, so this may be goodbye. I've so enjoyed talking to both of you over the years - good luck for the future!
Hello, you three.
Good to see three most rational, on this thread (pj, Cath and MG)
so this may be goodbye.Â
Fee has already named thee and me and several others for her 'ideal' Jury. So I suspect that legally, we're on permanent call-out in Borsetshire for separating fact from fiction. Why we couldn't have been ideal guests at a fantasy dinner party at Botticelli, I'll probably never know. Hardly dared ask who was on her nightmare list of Mustard jurors.
Dash it - I'm completely off topic.

Gosh, that's a tempting one to answer at 11.59 tomorrrow....but how to restrict it to 12?
I've registered in Peet's so I think that means there's an email address there. As it's one I set up specifically for the purpose I must remember to check it from time to time!
Hello you three. Three of my all time favourite posters on one thread, I shall miss you all. I've had a lovely time on the MB but I'm also going to try to break the habit and Get a Life.
Sad we can't do any more financial checking of TA SLs but I shall think of you all when we get the details of poor old Jack's will.

Back to the h2g2 thingy, (which I've never really understood), at the time of the confusing migration, I declined to be part of the new board, but while googling myself (don't ask, it was for a perfectly good reason, I promise), I came across the same G'day! message addressed to me (with my real name which I used to use on here until I realised I really didn't want to).
Any-hoo (sorry, rambling) I thought it was a bit odd and am not sure if there is anything I should do about it. It's just an empty account.
Hi PFKA, that's a pain to have your real name on it. The shame! (I just tried googling myself and couldn't find me at all. Imagine how I feel.)
I think the problem may be that by refusing to allow our details to be passed on we may be locked out for all time. Bah.

Luckily there is someone else with exactly the same name as me that comes a little further up the google list, so maybe people will think it is them!
