Hope you're recovering and will be back on our screens soon. In the meantime, could you please direct TPTB to all the threads on this board specifically dealing with either GW, or Scotland's Beechgrove Garden? I was an avid GW watcher from childhood on, but over the past few years my loyalty has evaporated. After being introduced to Beechgrove via this board, I now make a point of watching it every week. There are no exotic camera antics, every project is followed through, and it has presenters who know their sweet potatoes from their Irish ones...
I may try GW again, but for now I (and a great many other people, I suspect) much prefer the Beechgrove format. Any chance your team could look in on it?
Regards
Mrs G. Ogg.
I wonder if this programme is Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú's iPlayer?
I thought CHANNEL FIVE would have had a gardening show on-air by now... but nothing.
Monty thank you for letting us all know on the message board you are 'ok' and recovering from a bit of garden burnout!! I look forward to your return as does my husband. Please take care and get well soon. We miss you!
when is beechgrove on and where
It's on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland Fridays at 7.30pm, but not tomorrow as they are showing Chelsea.
Here in sun-soaked Gloucestershire we get it on Wednesdays at 7.30pm. Don't know what the code number is, but just scroll through your on-screen TV menu for 'Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland'. My oh put the channel on 'favourites' for me - well worth it, as Scotland (and Wales!) TV seems to make far better programmes for its residents than poor old England can seem to manage!
Perhaps smaller budgets make them think harder???
Hi mavoman,
I think madonplants is confusing Beechgrove with GW. Beechgrove is on Wednesdays at 19.30 on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland, Sky channel 971. It's a wonderful programme and well worth watching if you love gardening.
You can only get it in England if you have satellite or cable - it is not on terrestial nor Freeview - more's the pity!!!!
We should have more free gardening programmes - come on Channels 4 and 5 where are you??!!
We only have Freeview, Kernow, and we get it! We have to have a satellite dish as there's no TV (or radio?) reception here otherwise, but we don't pay for it as far as I know.
thanks madonplants and bluedoyenne i have sky so ill try it mavoman
Gosh you are lucky G. I've just checked and we can't get it. It must be because you have a satellite dish - our Freeview is built into the TV set, no box, wires, dish or anything...we are completely at their mercy
On Digiguide, The beechgrove garden is on 30/5 and then the following wednesday on Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Scotland 1 at 7.30pm. How can I confuse that with GW??
I think Beechgrove is having a special Friday edition on 30th May to preview the Gardening Scotland show that weekend. It's usually Wednesdays at 7.30.
I agree that its on Wednesdays at 7.30 but thanks for mentioning the special edition on 30th May, I will try and remember to watch it
