is it only me that thinks that the George Harrison garden was robbed of its gold medal when some 'gold' gardens didnt even deserve a silver guilt in my opinion! i have always agreed with the RHS judges but this year i was let down!
No, I cannot share this. I thought this garden was a memorial, a tribute- well done, in memory of a great guy. However- a garden is something different to me.
Although I like flowers, I was taken by the green gardens at this year's Chelsea. They exude "calm"-maybe that is what people desire in a time of change? In the same way as the greater formality in the gardens offer the feeling of "order" in this time of change.
I thought, the "sheet" of water being only broken up by the "floating" walkway and the floating waterlilies was design at its best. Just a different class from Dermut.
yes i do agree with you there were some truely beautiful gardens at this years chelsea. i think i fell in love with the i dream i seak garden aswell.
It appears to be just you - I thought it was a mess!!!
I can't say I liked it. And the bit in front of the steps looked as though they'd run out of plants. I loved George tho.
