Old GW progs on UK TV gardens

  Just been watching some old GW progs with Alan T presenting and having watched a few back to back episodes it has struck me just how little actual gardening he did. This is just a mere observation but i found it so frustrating because i wanted him to get outside and get stuck into the borders and show us some useful pointers. Instead he just seemed to take an easy option and pot up some cuttings or sow seeds in the potting shed. I am by no way a professional but after watching 3 half an hour episodes i seemed to learn very little. It may seem a pointless thread in that this is all old hat but it does make you wonder.
  On a final note, best wishes to Monty and I will miss him for his persistent enthusiasm and hard work.
