    My wife and I were very saddened to hear of your sudden departure, and more so given the circumstances - our warmest wishes for a good recovery to you.

    It is fitting that I commented only recently that the allotments near to us (we live in York) used to be 75% full - now they are full and with a waiting list - inspired, I'm sure, by your enthusiasm and the way you have inspired others, regardless of background, race etc..

    Thank you for promoting and widening the awareness of the broader environmental issues that need to be addressed - whilst also never losing sight of an intrinsic love of plants. We will miss you, that's for sure! Go well.
