Easy question: on what day does the Daily Telegraph publish its Gardening section? Obviously, I don't know the answer but would like to start buying it that day.
Thanks.
Saturday Telegraph... it's really good, with Sarah Raven and a problem page by Helen Yemm. If they've sold out I have to go to the next village for it, so don't buy my last copy
There's usually some gardening item in The Sunday Telegraph as well, but not a whole section devoted to gardening.
Yes!!
But don't buy the plants offered by the Telegraph, they come from J Parker and they are rubbish, I have been caught ouy in the past, never again!
The plants from the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday come from T & M and are really good value!
Great - thanks all! I'll have my pocket money ready this Saturday
We had to stop having the Saturday Telegraph. It got so addictive we never had time to get out in the garden - it's huge!
I love the saturday edition and it takes 2 days to read,I turn to the gardening first.Have learnt a few things from it.My grandaughter is given the fashion bit, OH and I read the money, he the sport and travel and the review with theatre and books is devoured when I get a chance for a cuppa during the week.
Daughter got a lot of the plants this year, so hope you were wrong about them being rubbish.
Hello Imcoho,
Hope her plants turn out o'k.
But have you read the posts on here about the 3 free Fuchsia plants, that was my experience, but worse, though in the end they did rather ungraciously refund me my money, after some months, for the plants that I had purchased from them.
Cheers
Hi Lurgonspade
I will let you know how her plants do.I know she planted a climbing fuschia the other day ,it looked Ok. She did get 2 Duo apple trees from some offer not sure which one and they have small apples on them now.
I've only ever got the special offer plants from the Telegraph where you just pay p&p, but all have been good.
I'm sure many of them were Thompson and Morgan, as I recall writing a cheque out to them. Also the last offer I went for, which was a collection of 130 summer flowering bulbs, and 5 packs of perennial seeds, was T&M and they are brilliant, bulbs spinging up all over my garden at the mo
Hello Imcoho
I will hold you to that, let us all know!
And Kleinhelen
I buy some plants from T&M most years and they are very good,as are the ones from Jersey Plants Direct and there is "no" postage to pay unlike most of the others now!

I have taken the Daily Telegraph for - oh, years and years! Saturday's edition is a treat for me especially the gardening supplement. I have to discipline myself to throw them away - there's so much good information, that I have a dreadful habit of saving them "just in case".
Just a thought - I have no idea whether or not Helem Yemm would be good in front of camera - but her problem-soliving column is, in my opinion, unsmissable. It's practical without being "preachy" and has warmth and lightness of touch that is missing from many columnists.
Guest spot(s) on GW? New presenter?
PHJ
We don't get any newspapers except the free ones that come thru the door. We rely heavily on CEEFAX and TeleText. After reading about Saturday's edition, I am tempted to go and get a copy of the newspaper - just to see why some of you find the gardening section so addictive.
I like reading the Gardening section, but why oh why in winter does it reduce to a few measley pages, most of which is filled with adverts? I know there's often not much going on gardenwise over the winter, but surely they could find something to feature for us gardeners to help with the winter blues!
Even the rest of the year, I find the Gardening section a bit on the thin side, to be honest, with more adverts than articles, and often many of the articles are just plugs for expensive gardening gadgets! The Motoring section which my other half loves, on the other hand has lots more articles... grr!
I have to admit that since I 1st started reading the gardening section it has gone off a bit, cant put my finger on the faults but dont get as much from it as previously.
