Can anyone please tell me what it was that Andy was sprinkling in the holes before he put the plants in on gardners world. What was it for and did it work?
andy sturgeon used mycorrhizal fungi ,you can buy it under the name "rootgrow" from all good garden centres I tried it last year on some new roses it really does work getting the plants established very quickly.
I agree veratum.
I used it this year to plant three climbers and two shrubs and they are all thriving.
Two of the climbers had been in pots for years and were in a pretty bad way and I didnt really expect them to survive so I put there sucessful growth down to the fungi.
