A while back I watched an episode from the Tatton Park flower show on the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú. One of the presenters was showing us a new type of Gladioli the name of which I don't remember, however, if this can be traced a) what is it called? b) where can the bulbs be obtained from? I would be delighted to introduce these to my garden if possible next year. Thank you.
I think, if my memory is working! - it was Gladiolus callicanthus.
Thank you very much. I shall now have an enjoyable hunt for the bulbs.
If it was Gladiolus calianthus murieliae, it is indeed lovely - and quite unlike most Gladioli, but it's not new and not hardy. It used to be sold as Acidanthera. There were some in flower at Tatton show, but these will have been brought on early as they aren't usually in flower until September.
