I've just finished watching the first few episodes of Geoff Hamilton's 'Cottage Gardens.'
Perhaps I've missed it but in the first few series Geoff talks about 'the limited budget.' Anyone any ideas of what his budget was then - gosh how many years ago was that!!!'
Also size again I haven't picked up on this. I'm assuming both gardens were the same size - but how big.
Geoff is sorely missed.
Kevin
please please where and when are geoffs cottage gardens on. He was my first real inspiration.although I had watched others.
Lunicorn, This series is not on TV (at least not on my non-satellite package), but you can pick up the entire Geoff Hamilton Collection (Cottage Gardens / Paradise Gardens / Ornamental Kitchen Gardens) on DVD at a very reasonable price. I find myself returning to them at regular intervals. I certainly thought it was good value.

It's on DVD, obtainable at the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú or order via your normal DVD outlet.
The box set is entitled 'The Geoff Hamilton Collection.' It has three DVD's Cottage Gardens, Paradise Gardens and The Ornamental Kitchen Garden - great buy
Kevin
Thanks to you Kevin and Ken I will look for it now Linda
Why didn't The philosopher say he watched it on DVD.
It's on UKTV Garden channel. There's also a book to accompnay each of the series covered in teh collection and you can probably find on ein the local library. That will probably give you dimensions and budgets and I know the Cottage Gardens one gives instructions for things like the obelisks and compost bins in the budget artisans garden.

Why indeed? (note to myself I must be more precise in future )
But the original question remains unanswered - anyone any idea what Geoff's limited budget was, and what was the size of the garden?
Kevin
No idea of the budget (adjusted for inflation, it was nearly 20 years ago) but his Barnsdale gardens are open to the public tended by his son and daughter in law (or daughter and son in law — can't remember which) here's the link:
Philospher - yu have been pointed at the book, the DVDs and the UKTV channel, all of which can provide the answer if you try.
