Not a problem there will be plenty of unemployed next year including Gordon Brown.
Seriously I just wish the EU would get lost and stop micro managing the UK. In every other country they will just ignore the 'ban' but in the UK the PC police will be out to fine you. If it does come in it will be a sad day for farmers and people who need to use roundup.

The RHS magazine this month highlights a new product available to gardeners containing glyphosate as its active ingredient for killing Japanese knotweed (among other things) using the inoculation method previously only available to professionals. Would a company invest in a new product knowing that its key ingredient will be banned in the very near future. Are you sure this is legislation and not just a policy proposal?

I bet it is going to be a 'license' only product so I am going to have to get another worthless piece of paper just to be able to buy the stuff.

I assume the topic is a possible future ban on glyphosate. I teach English to local scientists involved in research projects on pesticides, herbicides, water management, crop quality, forest and wildlife managing. They collaborate with other EU scientists and projects including in the UK.
They told me last year a ban is likely as so much glyphosate residue is found in water courses and the water table so it is not as inert as claimed to be once it hits the soil. They also tell me it has along shelf life so, if you're worried, stock up whilst you wait for an alternative prodcut to become available or in case none does.
